An independent, Anglican, fully catered co-residential college.
St George's College is an independent, Anglican, fully catered co-residential college within The University of Western Australia and is located adjacent to the University campus at Crawley, Perth.
Founded by the Anglican Diocese of Perth in 1931 with funds from the Hackett Bequest, ownership of the College is vested in St George's College Inc. a not-for-profit association incorporated under the Association's Incorporation Act (WA).
The Association's Rules allow for the admission for Members representative of the College's primary stakeholders - the Anglican Diocese of Perth, The University of Western Australia and College alumni. The Archbishop of Perth and the Vice-Chancellor also hold office as Visitors. Visitors and Members in general meeting constitute the College Council which meets at least once a year to receive the Board's Report and financial statements, and to which the Board is accountable.
The College is governed by an independent Board constituted as provided in the Rules and is also broadly representative of the primary stakeholders. The Board meets at least four times a year and is supported by standing committees; currently Finance, Planning and Education Committees.
