GOOD NEWS! St. George's College is happy to announce the Mascot Design Competition to commemorate its Foundation Day on 8th March. Is this Joji?

This competition is a celebration of the College’s spirit to conserve the best of the past, to promote the best of the present, and to seek the best of the future.

On this occasion, the College will unveil ‘Joji Dragon’ who represents the 3 signature traits every Georgian is known for – cool, smart and zippy.

How to Vote for People's Choice Award:

Search for #jojidragon on Facebook. A list of posts will be displayed. Vote for your favourite entry by LIKING or SHARING that post. You can vote for multiple entries between 16th February and 14th March.

You are invited to submit your vision of 'Joji Dragon' with its 3 signature traits – cool, smart and zippy.

‘Cool’ means fun, creative and stylish. ‘Smart’ denotes inquisitive, intelligent and industrious. ‘Zippy’ stands for lively, happy and energetic.

Your entry must depict 5 images of ‘Joji Dragon’ in the following 5 moods or scenarios:

1) Happy

2) Sad

3) Studying

4) Partying

5) Community Service

Feel free to illustrate, draw, sketch or paint. There is no restriction on the choice of medium used.

Submit your entry in one of two categories:

1) High School

2) Georgians and Residents

Here are the submission details for 'High School' category:

Students of Years 10, 11 and 12 from schools in Western Australia are eligible to participate. Multiple entries are allowed, one entry per email.

The entry must be emailed by 8th March to jojidragon2017@gmail.com along with:

1) Name of Participant

2) Email Address

3) Mailing Address

4) Phone Number

5) School Name

6) School Year

7) Category (High School or Georgians)

8) Facebook URL (if you have posted or plan to post your entry on your timeline to be considered for People's Choice Award)

9) Declaration (please include the following statement - "I declare that my entry is original and I have the complete rights to share it with you")

The entry must meet the following specifications:

1) On a white background

2) All 5 images should be on a single, one-sided A4 size page

3) Accepted file formats - PDF, JPEG, PNG or TIFF

4) File name format - LastName_FirstName_Category

Submit your entry in one of two categories:

1) High School

2) Georgians and Residents

Any current or past resident of the College and their family members, irrespective of country of residence, are eligible to participate. Multiple entries are allowed, one entry per email.

1) Name of Participant

2) Name of Georgian related to you (if you are not a Georgian)

3) Email Address

4) Mailing Address

5) Phone Number (with country code)

6) Year of Residence in College (if you are a Georgian)

7) Category (High School or Georgians)

8) Facebook URL (if you have posted or plan to post your entry on your timeline to be considered for People's Choice Award)

There will be 2 prizes in this category:

AUD 1000 + Certificate of Excellence

2nd Prize

AUD 500 + Certificate of Excellence

People's Choice Award

There is only one award, common to both categories.

AUD 1500 + Certificate of Excellence

Criteria for Prizes

The 1st and 2nd Prizes in each category will be chosen by a panel of judges based on clarity and creativity.

The People's Choice Award will be chosen based on an online poll. The entry receiving the highest number of ‘LIKES’ and ‘SHARES’ on Facebook will be the winner.

To be eligible for People's Choice Award:

1) The participant must ‘LIKE’ the College Facebook page (www.facebook.com/stgeorgescollegeuwa)

2) The participant must post their entry on their own Facebook timeline between 16th February and 8th March

3) The participant must include the following hashtags in their post (#jojidragon, #stgperth)

Important Note:

If you wish to participate only in the People's Choice Award, then please email details of your entry to jojidragon2017@gmail.com along with 'People's Choice Award' in the subject line. Please click on the tabs 'High School' and 'Georgians' to read the submission details for the respective category.

By participating in the Competition, you are meant to have read, understood and accepted the following rules:

1) The Competition ends on the midnight of 8th March 2017, Perth Time. Entries received after this date and time will not be considered.

2) To be eligible for People's Choice award, you must post your entry on your Facebook page anytime between 16th February and 8th March.

3) Multiple entries are allowed, one entry per email. Any entry received without complete details will not be considered.

4) Each entry must be accompanied by a declaration that it is an original work of the participant.

5) Staff members of the College or their family are not eligible to participate.

6) The decision of the Competition judges are final and binding on all participants.

7) The winners will be announced on the home page of College Website (www.stgeorgescollege.uwa.edu.au) on 15th March 2017. The winners will be contacted individually within a week regarding their prizes.

8) If you are declared as one of the winners in any Category, you are required to post the hard/physical copy of your entry to the Office of St. George's College, within a week of the declaration of the results at your own expenses.

9) By entering the Competition, you agree that your entry, including the winning entry (both hard/physical and soft/digital copy), will become the exclusive property of St. George's College. The College will have the total copyright to use the entry or its derivative on any media, including print, digital, video and social media, for commercial purposes or otherwise.

10) The College reserves the right to cancel the Competition at any stage, without ascribing any reason whatsoever. No prizes will be awarded in such cases.
