The City Centre

The Swan River
Meandering through the city and its suburbs is the Swan River. Culturally important to the local Aboriginal peoples it is lined by many parks where everyone can enjoy picnics, play in the water and enjoy the fresh air.
One of the most popular attractions for both local and international visitors, Kings Park is one of the largest inner city parks in the world. It is located directly behind St George’s College and contains the State War Memorial, walks, native plants, Botanic Gardens, playgrounds and the best views of the city, as well as marking an important place in Indigenous history.
Known as the Sunset Coast, Perth’s beaches are some of the best in Australia. Crystal clear water and some good surf spots combine to attract any beach lover.
Located on the coast just 20 minutes from the city centre, the bustling port city of Fremantle has long been renowned for its eclectic mix of art and alternative types. It boasts world class historical sites, restaurants, cafes, shopping and access to Rottnest Island.
