St George's College is made up of students from regional Western Australia, Perth, interstate and overseas. The chance to discover and mix with people from a range of backgrounds and cultures helps students to develop their intercultural understanding and global networks.

The feeling of belonging to a tightly knit community was unobtainable at any of the larger colleges.

The people, the people, the people. People make a place what it is and there's no better than that at St George's!

The diversity of people here is fantastic, but they all have one thing in common; friendliness and willingness to be a part of St George's.

Formal Dinner

Students who reside at St George's College have a unique opportunity to listen to a variety of Australian leaders addressing areas such as business, academic, religious and community service.

These leaders give their valuable time to speak to the students at regular Formal Dinners and our Fireside Chats where they are encouraged to share their experiences of university life and careers.

Community Contributions

Our students are provided with the opportunity to be involved to share their skills, knowledge and care in any number of areas. Significant community groups with which we are associated are set out below.

We are involved in "True Blue Dreaming", Teach, Learn, Grow and other will deserving initiatives.

Organised sporting events are an important part of college life and the inter-college sports program offers team challenges in a whole range of sports. Through the University you can choose to compete at the highest levels of varsity, state or national levels or participate in any number of social competitions.

Study Assistance

We offer regular academic tutorials for all year levels across all UWA degrees. A typical semester sees 40 - 50 tutorials on offer, covering a wide range of subjects. The majority of tutorials support first-year students, although upper-level tutorials are provided and students can request tutorials in any subject. Tutorials are run by UWA academics, resident academic tutors (early-career and established researchers), postgraduates or senior students who have exceptional academic records.

Alongside the tutorial program, students offer each other support in their studies. Older students and resident tutors provide academic mentoring. College staff can advise on course changes and subject selection and help students navigate university procedures around special consideration.

The weekly tutorials and small study groups are there to help you achieve to the best of your ability in your chosen units.

At St George's we develop the character and personality in our residents by providing not just a place to stay and to study, but also a place in which to transition into adulthood and the world at large.

The College encourages involvement in music activities that include the Folk Concert, Home Grown Concert, Recitals and the University "Battle of the Bands".

The point of separation from other colleges in Western Australia is the magnificent buildings that are St George's College. Built in 1931 in the Victorian Gothic style, the buildings represent one of the most attractive precincts of historical buildings in Western Australia. It is a "castle" in which to live and learn.
