Western Australia achieved self-government. Sir John Forrest, the first Premier of WA, and his friends Sir John Winthrop Hackett, and Archbishop C.O.L. Riley, founders of St George’s College, considered a university should be created for the now self-governing colony.
Following the sale by Hackett’s executor of shares in the company that owned the Western Australian and Western Mail newspapers, the firm of Sir Talbot Hobbs was appointed to be the College architects.
We provide our neighbours and friends the opportunity to be involved and attend many of the activities and events we have scheduled throughout the year.
St George's College students have access to a great range of people in all professions. This is of immeasurable value to students who wish to access this resource for their own benefit.
